PROJECT MEETINGS

The final conference of the project was successfully held on 30th May 2023 in Istanbul, Türkiye.

The final conference of the Development of Training System for Safe Turkish Straits (SafeSTRAITS) Project was held on 30th May 2023 at 13:30 LT at Istanbul Technical University Maritime Faculty, and it was organized by the project partner DEDEK.

The project website, online training modules and the assessment tool of the project were introduced by Orka Informatics to the participants from the maritime industry. They also explained how to reach and complete the training modules.

After the final arrangements, the online training portal will be ready for everyone interested in the Turkish Straits and will be free of charge.

AP&A hosted our sixth partner meeting & local workshop on 25th April 2023.

The sixth partner meeting of our project was successfully held in Athens. The second local workshop (pilot training) was also performed during the meeting with the support of the participants engaged in the maritime industry. They evaluated the content of the SafeSTRAITS training modules and the assessment tool, including the usability of the online training platform.


The Final meeting & Conference of the SafeSTRAITS project will be held end of May 2023 at the Istanbul Technical University, Türkiye.

The 5th partner meeting of our project was held on 30th January 2023 and organized by Orka Informatics.

The 5th meeting of the SAFESTRAITS was organized by Orka Informatics with all partners’ participation. In the meeting, Orka presented the first demonstration of uploaded training modules. Partners evaluated the current version of the modules and website, and discussed the success evaluation system. 


The next meeting including a local workshop will be on April 2023 in Athens, Greece.

Our fourth meeting was successfully held on October 6, 2022 and hosted by Constanta Maritime University.

The fourth meeting of the SafeSTRAITS project was held on the 6th of October, 2022 and organized by the Constanta Maritime University, with face-to-face and online options. Completed training modules have been evaluated regarding their content and further requirements. During the meeting, Romanian National Channel interviewed the project coordinator and the partners to share information about the SafeSTRAITS project.


The next meeting is planned to be held on January 2023 in İstanbul.

Our third meeting was successfully held on June 16, 2022 and hosted by University of Strathclyde.

The third partner meeting was held at Strathclyde University in Glasgow, the United Kingdom, on 16th June 2022. Partners participated in the meeting both face to face and via Zoom online meeting platform. In the meeting, completed training modules for the SafeSTRAITS online training platform were evaluated among the project partners. Partners also discussed the financial and administrative issues of the project.


The next meeting will be on October, 2022 at Constanta Maritime University, Romania.

Our second meeting was successfully held on December 6, 2021 and hosted by İstanbul Şehir Hatları

In the meeting, project coordinator Professor Özcan Arslan shared the survey results concerning the training topics to be included in the online training modules. All topics were evaluated by the representatives from the project partners. Also, tasks to be performed until next meeting were determined and distributed among the partners.

The 3rd meeting will be held in Glasgow, UK and it will be hosted by the project partner, University of Strathclyde.

Kick of meeting was held online July 7, 2021

In the meeting, project coordinator Professor Özcan Arslan shared the his opening presentation and introduced the İTÜ Turkish Straits Maritime Application and Research Center. Then the project partners shared their presentations which brief their institutions/organizations.
